Amazing Apple Cake Recipe

This apple cake is soft, warmly spiced, and perfect for sharing around the Thanksgiving table. Top it with vanilla or cinnamon ice cream for te ultimate seasonal dessert.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking sode
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups shredded peeled apples (about 2 medium apples)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- Vanilla or cinnamon ice cream for serving
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9-inch round cake pan with baking spray and lightly flour it.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Stir in vanilla, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Fold in the apples and walnuts. Spoon batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan onto a cooling rack. Cool an additional 10 minutes. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream.
